The Netherlands are on the verge of failing to qualify for the European Championship finals for the first time in more than 30 years after a 3-0 loss to Turkey left them fourth in Group A.

HAZARD PERFORMANCE WAS TERRIBLE

Eden Hazard may have scored a late winner against Cyprus to move Belgium closer to Euro 2016, but coach Marc Wilmots still laid into the Chelsea star and his team for their limp efforts.

He also singled out Liverpool striker Christian Benteke for criticism, although he was relieved with a Group B result that steered his team to the brink of qualification for next year's finals in France.

Italy coach Antonio Conte has hit out at critics who have questioned midfielder Andrea Pirlo's form.
Pirlo was benched for Sunday's 1-0 European Qualifiers triumph over Bulgaria in Palermo having started in last week's 1-0 victory over Malta.

Daley Blind at CB a Disaster Waiting To Happen

The infamous gargoyle-scowl chiseled onto Louis van Gaal’s face as he left the Liberty Stadium after his side’s 2-1 loss to Garry Monk’s Swansea City bespoke a frustratingly persistent niggle still lingering around Manchester United, a cluster of critically vital problems that refuse to allow a crippled club to rise to the place it had gotten so accustomed to occupying.
Only Michael Carrick has a higher pass accuracy (94%) than Daley Blind (92%) in the league this season.
Seventeen months have now passed since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure and few obvious points of progression at United post-Moyes can be nailed down in spite of the fact that truly gargantuan financial sums have been fervently offered up to the continent in a jittery bid to salve cuts and bruises that are proving uncomfortably stubborn.

Shocking! Chelsea Star Claims Victor Valdes Said This To Him About Manchester United

       Pedro Chelsea debut

Chelsea’s summer signing and former Barcelona forward Pedro has denied speculations suggesting that his former team-mate Victor Valdes warned him against joining Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United side this summer. The World Cup winning Spaniard was expected to join the Red Devils, after he decided to end his stay at the Camp Nou.

However, the 28 year old superstar opted to join the Blues instead, after it became clear that Jose Mourinho was more keen in securing his services.

Wow! Manchester United Star Reacts On Twitter Following Deadline Day Madness

Arsenal tried to buy and team still needs players says Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry believes Arsene Wenger tried to buy players this summer, but Arsenal may have ended up short of what they need to fight for the title.

The Arsenal boss did not buy anyone on deadline day, with just Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech arriving at the Emirates in the close season, meaning Arsenal were the only side in any of Europe's top-five leagues not to have signed an outfield player this summer.

Wayne Rooney needs more freedom at Manchester United, says Gary Neville

Football pundit Gary Neville believes Louis van Gaal needs to give Wayne Rooney more freedom if he wants to see the Manchester United captain back to his best.

Despite hitting a hat-trick last week in the Champions League against Club Brugge, Rooney has failed to score in the Premier League this season and has not found the net in the league in 14 hours and 24 minutes.

The England captain has featured as a lone forward in all of United's four league games this season but Neville, who described United's formation as "rigid," believes Rooney needs to get back to playing the game he knows best.

"Louis van Gaal wants him to play in between the two centre-backs and not move," Neville told Super Sunday.

"That is not Rooney's game. It hasn't been his game for 11 years. You see him charging into channels. You see him hunting back and you see him all over the pitch. You can't contain him.

The alarming thing for me is that Cristiano Ronaldo has had 115 touches over Real's opening two games, the same as James Rodriguez had in one game, the 5-0 win over Real Betis.

The 10 most expensive teenagers in football history

Anthony Martial's £36m move to Man Utd makes him the world's most expensive teenager

Anthony Martial's £36m move from Monaco to Manchester United has made him the most expensive teenager in history.

The 19-year-old breaks the record previously set by his new team-mate Luke Shaw, who joined United in a £31m deal from Southampton last summer.

Here, we take a look at the 10 most expensive teenagers in history…

Will wenger be justified?

With Arsenal making only one signing in the summer transfer window, is Arsene Wenger’s apparent faith in his squad justified? We examine the stats that suggest he’ll need much more from his forwards if the doubters are to be silenced…

The early optimism that followed the arrival of Petr Cech feels some time ago now. Arsenal fans watched and they waited. But to no avail. The only club in Europe's top five leagues not to sign an outfield player. The only Premier League side not to bring in at least five new bodies. Cech's arrival was the beginning and the end of Arsenal's transfer activity this summer.

Jeremy Peace admits he must 'repair the damage' with Saido Berahino after transfer fiasco

West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace admits he must 'repair the damage' with Saido Berahino after transfer fiasco
The England Under-21 striker handed in a transfer request last week but all four Spurs approaches for his services were rebuffed by the Baggies, citing a gross misunderstanding of his value.

Berahino subsequently took to Twitter to slam Peace for failing to supplement any deal, and Peace confessed that, while he feels Albion blossomed in the window, he must now mop up the mess regarding his wantaway striker’s future.

In a statement on the club's website, Peace said on West Brom's transfer business:
“We have spent a record amount of money on transfers for a single window and our wage commitments will be at record levels too,” said Peace.

“We have pushed our spending on new players as far as we can, ever-mindful of the fact that we have to run the Club on a solvent basis and within the Financial Fair Play rules.

“We have confidence in the squad which will now carry us forward under Tony’s guidance."

And on Berahino:
“We have a key player who has been very unsettled by antics which were designed to get him out of our club cheaply.

"Those tactics have continued despite my making our position clear in my first conversation with Daniel Levy on this subject in mid-August.

“I said selling Saido so late in the window was not on our agenda.

“Tottenham’s offers failed substantially to reflect Saido’s true value while the timing made no allowance for our own recruitment of a suitable replacement for a proven Premier League goalscorer.

“Saido has been unsettled to the point where our Head Coach has not felt able to select him for our last three games.

“We are now left with the task of repairing the damage created by this unfortunate episode.”

Marseille offered Emmanuel Adebayor as Tottenham made last ditch attempt to offload striker

Spurs were desperate to shift the striker before Tuesday's deadline, with Aston Villa and West Ham both keen.

No deal was struck, though, and the former Arsenal man will now train with the under-21s until January.

Piers Morgan slams ‘arrogant’ Arsene Wenger – ‘I spent more in Starbucks than Arsenal in the transfer window!’

 http://talksport.com/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/201509/wenger.jpg?itok=fnnJpfFc

"Yesterday the deadline elapsed and I spent more money buying a cup of coffee in Starbucks for £2.50 than Arsene Wenger spent in the window after initially buying Cech earlier in the summer.

'Berahino is going to have to eat humble pie'

“He doesn’t want the fans turning on him, it could be very nasty in that situation because you’re not playing for the club that you’ve made your way with.

“It was a really bad statement to put on Twitter I think. It was a young man being a bit silly. He needs to go out there and apologise and knuckle down.

DE GAE MUST PLAY

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque admits it will be difficult for him to select David de Gea in his European Championship squad if the goalkeeper remains on the sidelines at Manchester United.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque (R) says David de Gea must play this season if he wants to go to Euro 2016.
De Gea's long-anticipated transfer to Real Madrid fell through on Monday due to miscommunication between the Spanish club and United and he will stay at Old Trafford until at least January.
