Tottenham offered Emmanuel Adebayor to Marseille on Deadline Day in last ditch attempt to offload striker

Marseille offered Emmanuel Adebayor as Tottenham made last ditch attempt to offload striker

Spurs were desperate to shift the striker before Tuesday's deadline, with Aston Villa and West Ham both keen.

No deal was struck, though, and the former Arsenal man will now train with the under-21s until January.

However it has now been revealed, according to La Provence, that Marseille were also in the running to to sign Adebayor.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reportedly offered the Togo star to the French club with just hours left in the window.

But, given the lack of time and the 31-year-old's wage demands, Marseille refused to enter negotiations.
