De Bruyne Set To Complete City Move

Kevin De Bruyne is expected to complete his
record move to Manchester City today.

Wolfsburg confirmed on Friday that they had
agreed a deal with City for the Belgian forward
after leaving him out of their squad to face
Schalke.

De Bruyne is now on his way to Manchester and
is due to undergo a medical ahead of City’s
clash with Watford on Saturday.

The fee for the 24-year-old is understood to
be £54million, eclipsing the £49million the
Premier League club paid for Raheem Sterling
earlier this summer.

The former Chelsea man will be the fourth major
addition to Manuel Pellegrini’s squad this
summer, following the deals for Sterling, Nicolas
Otamendi and Fabian Delph, and will take City’s
spending beyond £150m.

Barring any last-minute hitches, the deal for De
Bruyne is expected to be announced after
Saturday’s clash with Watford at the Etihad
Stadium.
