Tottenham and Stoke City will both be searching for there first point of the season when they lock horns at the White Hart Lane this saturday.
The Potters, meanwhile, went down to Liverpool by the same scoreline, with Reds midfielder Philippe Coutinho snatching the points with a sensational strike at the Britannia Stadium 24 hours later.
Both Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and Stoke counterpart Mark Hughes will now be expecting a positive response from their players, although the former has an attacking conundrum to solve, with Harry Kane the only recognised first-choice striker at the north London club.
That comes after Emmanuel Adebayor was told he no longer features in Pochettino's plans, while Roberto Soldado has travelled to Spain ahead of his proposed move to Villarreal.
However, Clinton N'Jie could come straight into the starting XI after completing his move from Lyon, while goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and defender Danny Rose are both set to return, having sat out the loss to United through injury.
For Stoke, club-record signing Xherdan Shaqiri is set to make his debut following his £12m arrival from Inter Milan, while Chelsea loanee Marco van Ginkel will also be hoping for his chance to impress.
Bojan Krkic is not expected to play any part, though, as he looks to regain his fitness with the Under-21 side, while Peter Odemwingie is a doubt with a hamstring strain.
