Man United gossip: Van Gaal FINALLY targets two defenders and Muller move back on
The defender has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the majority of the summer and it now appears as though the deal may finally go ahead.
United manager Louis van Gaal’s hopes of signing Spain defender Sergio Ramos seem to be over after the 29-year-old agreed a new contract at Real Madrid, the London Evening Standard.
He had initially agreed a deal to stay with Madrid earlier in the summer, only for a number of reasons he ended up not signing it.
The Red Devils are now preparing to rival Chelsea’s bid for Everton’s 21-year-old England defender John Stones and are prepared to offer Northern Ireland international Jonny Evans, 27, plus cash, according to ESPN.
However, his arrival wouldn’t necessarily strengthen the back line as they would still be a man short at the back.
Midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, 25, says the experience of playing in League One with Southampton “toughened him up physically and mentally” to play for United, the Manchester Evening News reports.
He claims it was in the humble surroundings of Griffin Park and Bescott where Morgan Schneiderlin developed the tools he believes will prepare him for the Nou Camp and the Bernabeu.
United are refusing to give up on Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller and are prepared to offer a contract worth £50million, according to reports in Germany, the Daily Express reports.
